92 pts(CW)The inaugural release 2007 of this wine received 91 pts Wine Spectator. This vintage has not yet been rated. However, I tasted it this past week and it is smoking. Dave Phinney has the touch. Al Jabarin Calwine. The 2008 Saldo has a deep dark ruby color. It has aromas of red raspberry, ribena, campfire, toast and sweet vanilla. On the palate there is wild strawberry, rhubarb, and sassafras. The wine is expansive with a 30 plus second finish. There is an impression of cherry pie on the end. Drink now and enjoy over the next five years. 88% Zinfandel 8% Syrah 4% Petite Syrah.

The 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon beautifully expresses the full aromatic ripeness of this exemplary vintage. It is full bodied and yet refined, and consistent in its color, aroma, palate and finish. It has a dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice. It is seamless on the palate with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length. With proper cellaring it should give drinking pleasure through 2032
